The Windy City high school program has a strong belief in developing athletes and it starts with our winter workouts. Our off-season program starts in November and puts players through 3 training sessions weekly. Teams will be chosen based on the evaluation of each player throughout the off-season training cycle. This allows our staff time to evaluate each individual athlete and creates competition throughout the workouts to push each player to maximize their talents.
The training program will incorporate position specific training, group hitting sessions, arm care and bullpen sessions, strength and conditioning instruction and workout plans, and full team practices. This program is designed to provide instructors ample time to evaluate each athlete. In addition, we will focus on individual skills and try to maximize the potential of each athlete with the skill training.
Windy City is committed to the development and growth of each individual athlete. We expect dedication from the ourselves and the players alike. Our standards for training are set high for our staff and we expect that effort from the athletes as well. This philosophy is designed to instill a tireless work ethic and attitude in our players to help them achieve their goals.
There will be multiple teams at each age group. Team selections will happen after the completion of the winter workouts in March. The season will begin in June and run through July with most of those tournaments starting on Thursday of each week. Schedules are designed to maximize college exposure and to play competitive baseball. Windy City participates in select/invite events and is a member of the Chicago Scouts Association's Skyscraper Conference.
